The function of the CZ Wall is to give a substantially larger 'calm zone' behind it in comparison to any other wall. In tests this was achieved, up to twenty times greater than a conventional wall.

The prevailing air (wind) is deflected over the curves upward to exit at the top of the CZ Wall.

Due to two effects namely cloanto and venturi effects the wall is very efficient and adds velocity and retains much of the air pressure. Computer designed aerodynamics technology extends the virtual height of a wall to give the greater Calm Zone.

The effect is to push the prevailing air upward and deflect it away from the area to be protected behind the wall, in effect the harder the wind blows the more it deflects upward.

Normal upright walls only serve to shelter a very small area with back draft at the same speed as the prevailing wind in the opposite direction. It's the same effect as being in an open car where the air blasts you from behind rather than the front where its coming from.

The CALM ZONE FIRE BARRIER (CZFB)adapted to assist in fire fighting has water reticulation built in which will spray a high pressure volume mist into the hot air and embers transiting the wall, cooling and extinguishing prior to exiting the barrier.

This will assist in fire control and will give protection behind the barrier within the 'calm zone' in the event of an emergency. Additional spray nozzles can be fitted facing the calm zone to reduce the effects of radiated heat in the sheltered zone.

CALM ZONE PARTICULATE BARRIER (CZPB) Reducing the effect of dust storms, smoke, water spray, snow, slow moving mist or fog banks, anywhere where visibility is impaired by particulate transit. The barrier lifts the air and particulate well clear leaving a Calm Zone for the highway, or whatever needs protection for a clear view or free from dust, snow or debris deposits.

Key Benefits

  • CZWB. Deflect air vertically and vector ambient wind flow away to reduce wind buffeting and damage on the ground.
  • CZFB. Help cool and deflect hot air and embers in fire situations. Give fire fighters protection.
  • CZPB. Limiting airborne particulate transit and gaining large visibility zone behind the barrier.

Not only for storm or hurricane wind conditions but the wall is just as effective in light airs.
Since the wall operates with the wind being the force against itself even
light airs are treated in the same way.
