I use this circuit in preference to the more normal capacitor discharge/SCR setup
as it can be controlled by relays and computers. The pulse length is a function
of the 4u7 capacitor and the power supply voltage.
When the switch transfers it sends a positive pulse through the 4u7 capacitor to
drive the transistor for a fixed time. The original TIP32 transistors are now replaced
by BD681 and the 4u7 replaced by a 1u0 capacitor. br>
There is no recovery time except that required to allow the power supply to regain its
16 volts if it has a low power capacity. br>
