This very competitively priced book explores the varied terrain of the Wairarapa and the equally varied trains that have traversed it. There is a sharp, detailed image of Double Fairlie E172 on a work train near Eketahuna and an equally detailed photo of a Single Fairlie locomotive at Greytown Station. The Fell section is adequately covered and there are a number of interesting photographs of the different types of railcar used. Modern traction and infrastructure adds balance to this well laid out publication. The captions seem well researched and are informative without being too wordy.
