1840 Apr 23	Port Nicholson: Applying for situation under 
		Government.

"My object in Coming out here was to get attached to your 
Excellency's household should that appointment be vacant if not 
there might be some other appointment at your Excellency's 
disposal. The NZ Land Company in consideration of my 
qualifications have appointed me Consulting Physician to their 
infirmary which appointment I can resign at any time and would
gladly do so for one your Excellency might be pleased to confer 
on me."

"Reply: Mr FITZGERALD informed that His Excellency will be happy 
to avail himself of his services in the course of an opportunity 
occurring but that at present no opening presents itself."
