On the 18th instant, Harriet Loeta, eldest child of William Halse
Esq., aged 3 years and 9 months.

Death - HALSE

On Thursday 19th instant of scarlet fever, George Wood only son of
William Halse, Esq. in his 6th year. The Funeral of Master George
Halse will take place at St Mary's Church this day at 2.30pm. The
procession leaving Mr Oxenham's residence, in the South Road, his
father from severe illness is unable to attend to pay this last 
tribute to his memory (his mother slowly recovering from scarlet fever
is not informed of the terrible loss lest the same fate might happen
to herself) and he is therefore necessitated to appeal to those
friends who took an interest in the dear boy to follow him to his
grave.

W. Halse Esq., to John Richard Barton, son of the late J. Roy Esq.,
of Dunedin.
