The London Gazette 23 Jun 1812 p19 The Creditors who have proved their Debts under a Commission of Bankrupt awarded and issued against Thomas Paty, of Lime-street, in the City of London, Merchant, Dealer and Chapman, are desired to meet the Assignees of the estate and effects of the said Bankrupt, on Friday the 3d day of July next, at One o'Clock in the Afternoon precisely, at the George and Vulture Tavern, Saint Michael's-Alley, Cornhill, London, in order to assent to or dissent from the said Assignees agreeing to join and concur with Thomas Freak, of Lee, in the County of Kent, Ship-Broker, in the sale of certain leasehold premises, situate at or near to a place called Saint Thomas-a-Watering, in the Parishes of Camberwell and Newington, in the County of Surrey, conveyed by the said Bankrupt to the said Thomas Freak, by way of mortgage, for securing the sum of 2500l. and interest; and also to assent to or dissent from the said Assignees agreeing with the said Thomas Freak, upon the division and application of the monies which shall arise and be produced by such sale; and on other special affairs.

PCC Will dated 14 Aug 1822 I Thomas Freak of Dartmouth Row Blackheath being of sound mind and sound understanding do declare this to be my last will and testament dated this fourteenth day August 1822 that is to say I give to my lawful wife Elizabeth Freak the whole of my property consisting of consuls eleven thousand seven hundred pounds & reduced stock forty one thousand now standing in my name at the Bank of England also all my freeholds & leasehold the house I now live in Dartmouth Row Blackheath furniture plate all bonds note of hands due or becoming due all ready money that may be in the house at my decease & all wearing apparel and in fact of true intent and meaning of this is for her the said Elizabeth Freak my wife to have the whole of the aforesaid my property at her discretion to divide it according to her mind to her seven children one son and six daughters before or at her decease I declare this before God this to be my wish and will Witness this 29 Jan 1826 Thomas Freak On the 17th day of May 1839 admon (with the will annexed) of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of Thomas Freak late of Dartmouth Row, Blackheath in the County of Kent Ship Breaker deceased was granted to Elizabeth Freak the widow the relict the universal legatee for life and Rose Pratt (wife of James Pratt) one of her seven natural and lawful children and as such one of the universal legatees substituted in the said Will having been first sworn by Commission duly to administer and interlocutory order having been first made and interposed for the force and validity of the said Will (as by Act of Court appears)

The Times 15 Mar 1824 p4 Sales by Auction Dartmouth-row, Blackheath - By Mr Charles Wright, at the Green Man Inn, Blackheath, on Thursday, March 18, at 4am the afternoon, by order of the Proprietor, Thomas Freake, esq., who is removing from thence, and will give immediate possesion. A Substantial and very compact Leasehold Residence, pleasantly situate, in the preferable part of Dartmouth-row, fronting the avenue leading to the Heath, and contains 5 good bedrooms, a drawing room with a balcony, having a fine view of the surrounding country, dining room, entrance hall, store room, kitchen, scullery, large coal vault, very dry wine and beer cellars, and other conveniences, and a vast veranda or covered way from the front leading to the entrance hall: held of the Right Honourable Earl Dartmouth, for a term of ten years and a half, at Christmas last, at the low ground rent of 10/- per annum. May be viewed, from 11 till 4 o'clock, the three days preceding the sale, and particulars had on the premises; at the place of sale; Dover Castle, Broadway, Deptford: at Garraway's coffeehouse; and of Mr Wright, surveyor and auctioneer, Blue Stile, Greenwich.

The London Gazette 11 and 21 Jun 1839 Pursuant to a Decree of the High Court of Chancery, made in a cause Freak against Freak, the creditors of Thomas Freak, formerly of Rotherhithe, in the county of Surrey, afterwards of Widmore-lane, Bromley, in the county of Kent, subsequently of Dartmouth-row, Blackheath, and late of Greenwich, in the said county of Kent, Ship-Breaker deceased (who died on or about the 27th day of December 1837), are, on or before the 20th day of July 1839, to come in and prove their debts before the Right Honourable Robert Lord Henley, one of the Masters of the said Court, at his chambers, in Southampton-buildings, Chancery-lane, London, or, in default thereof they will be peremptorily excluded the benefit of the said Decree.
PCC Will of Elizabeth FREAK dated 28 Jul 1839 The last will and testament of Elizabeth Freak late of Greenwich in the county of Kent but now of Wootton Bassett in the County of Wilts widow first I desire that all my just debts funeral and testamentary charges and expenses may be fully paid and satisfied by my executor hereinafter named. I give and bequeath all my household goods and furniture plate linen wearing apparel monies and all other the personal estate and effects of or to which I am possessed or entitled or over which I have any power of appointment or disposition unto my daughter Rose Pratt the wife of James Pratt of Wootton Bassett aforesaid Gentleman her executors administrators and assigns for her and their own use and benefit absolutely. And I appoint the said James Pratt sole executor of this my will In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty eight day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine. Signed by the said Elizabeth Ffreak in the presence of us present at the same time who in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. A. J. Crowdy, Solr Swindon C. J. F. Axford, Surgeon Swindon Proved at London 15th September 1842 before the Judge by the oath of James Pratt the sole executor to whom Administration was granted having just been sworn by Commission duly to administer.
