Fairfax Clarence JohnsonI assume Clarence was born about 1820 or 1830. Based on recollections written by Eric Anderton in 1984, he was the first of the Johnson line in NZ, sailing from Moulton, England in the early 1800s. Several stories refer to him as "William Clarence Johnson", including an anecdote about his friendship with Louis Dihars. He married Elizabeth Hauta (or Te Hautaha?), whose full name was "Riripeti Tehapeta Timitiotahai TeAutaha". He and Elizabeth settled at Te Wairoa, where they reared a small family of two girls and two boys. Their children include:
