Pity: For all that were so excited about the chibiness because I'm sorry it ends here. Maybe I should write a side fic with more of their childhood antics. And for the Gundam boys who ended up in my high school. Specifically Trowa and Heero who ended up having Physics with Doctor Flint. Read and understand why^_^.

Trowa's eyes snapped open. The dream was always the same. Not surprisingly since in reality it was a memory rather than a dream. It had been two years since he had had that dream. Trowa had almost missed it in a way. It was one of his favorite memories from his childhood despite the initial trauma they had experienced at the hands of the "river monster" which had turn out to be Rashid in a black suit covered in mud and branches. That dream however, always left Trowa with a feeling of melancholy for a few days after. He had moved away when he was 12 and today had finally moved back at 16. Trowa rubbed his eyes trying to get rid of the fatigue that was plaguing him.
"You don't have to start today you know. You could wait until tomorrow. The school isn't going any where." David said his lips curving in a half smile.
"I know, I just really want to be here." Trowa said and grinned. David smiled back. He hadn't seen Trowa grin like that since Quatre had come out to their house to visit last summer.
"Yeah, yeah. You want to see your friends and have fun sticking me with your mom for unpacking. Thanks a lot." David grumbled.
"You love watching her be frantic. You get some sort of sick pleasure out of it or you never would have married her." Trowa retorted.
"That's true, and if you ever tell her I'll shave you bald." David stated.
"That's not much of a threat my hair couldn't possibly look more ridiculous anyway." Trowa retorted as he flipped his odd fall of bangs out of his face only to have it fall back exactly where it had been.
"Have fun. Don't scare the other kids all right?" David said snickering.
"Yeah, Bite me Pops." Trowa parried as left the car waving to his stepfather.
Trowa stared for a few minutes at his new school. It was smaller than the last one he had been in but he knew he'd probably still get lost. He took a deep breath and walked in.It didn't take Trowa that long to find the office. The place literally buzzed with activity. There were four secretaries buzzing around and loud chortling from a room in the back.
"Can I help you?" One of the secretaries [5] asked. She was older with short curly hair that was a light brown.
"Yes. My name is Trowa Barton. I'm a new student, I need my schedule." Trowa said trying to smile slightly. He always felt self-conscious talking to people for the first time. It had taken three years of speech therapy before he had lost that lisp from his childhood. The woman smiled and went to a computer.
"Sit down Trowa. It will be a few minutes before I have everything organized for you and then Mr. Fast [6] will be with you." The secretary said as she sat down at her desk. Trowa took note of the name on her desk and sat down. Trowa tried not to fidget in impatience. He really wanted to get to his classes and see if he was going to be with any of his old friends. He did not want to be sitting in the office. Trowa watched as a very sexy man with white blond hair and the world most piercing ice blue eyes walked in.
"Hello Mrs.. Millet is Mr. Fast Here?" He rumbled rather than spoke. His voice was so low and it sounded like velvet. Trowa was mildly intrigued. The guy oozed sensuality as he moved and smiled with a practiced flirtation. The other secretaries looked entranced. Mrs. Millet looked busy but smiled motherly at him.
"He's in a meeting right now with a few other students Zechs and then he has to show Trowa over there around and then he'll be free to speak with you." She said then went back to typing. "Oh. Can please pass this to Trowa?" She said as she stood and handed Zechs a paper, which he handed off to Trowa with a smile.
"New?" Zechs asked leaning against the front desk.
"Yeah." Trowa replied.
"What grade?" The blond asked.
"11." was Trowa's answer.
"See ya around I guess." Zechs said smirking and he chuckled. Trowa really didn't understand the laugh, but he started to feel annoyed. He felt like he was being sized up for competition. Trowa buried his nose into the paper and read his schedule trying to memorize the classrooms he had to be in.
"Who do you have?" Zechs asked draping himself into a chair next to Trowa and peering over his shoulder. "Ooohh physics with Dr.. Flint. He's all right just don't let him start talking about peeing in the shower [7]." Trowa let his eyebrows go up to his hair line speak for itself. "Just trust me on this if you let it happen, it will. Who else do you have?"
"Mr. Dawson, Mr. Voiriot, Mr. Anderson and Mrs. Paiseky. Nice." Zechs whistled through his teeth. Trowa tried not to encourage the friendly blond but he seemed quite intent on talking to him.
"Mr. Dawson [8] is a great English teacher. Good luck getting an A from him though it's one of the hardest things you'll ever try to achieve in your academic career. It's probably because he has a degree from Oxford. Hey! You play basketball? You're tall enough and we could use some more players."
"No. Water Polo and Volley ball." Trowa replied trying to sound even more bored than usual.
"You're in band too huh? Sooooo Whatcha' play?" Zechs queried going from relaxed Mr. Cool to child like exuberance in mere seconds." I play Barry Sax. I'm in the Jazz band and Wind Ensemble too."
"I play the flute." Trowa replied flatly.
"Oooo man I already feel your pain." Zechs sighed as he lounged even more in his chair if that was humanly possible.
"Hm." Was Trowa's response.
"You'll understand when you meet our flute section." Zechs chuckled "Hey Mr. Fast."
"Good Morning Zechs. I can guess why you're here." A man of medium height and build with salt and pepper coloured hair said as he walked through the door of the office. "Why Don't you come into my office? We can discuss it there."
"Actually Mr.. Fast this guy was here before me." Zechs said, pointing to Trowa. Mr. Fast focused on Trowa and looked mildly confused.
"Trowa Barton. I'm a new student." Trowa said shifting nervously.
"Ah. Good. I thought I had forgotten a name." Mr. fast said and smiled. "Follow me."
"Later Trowa!" Zechs said. "Hey Mr. Fast I'll come see you at lunch. I have Bio right away."
"All right Zechs. " Mr. fast replied "Come with me, Trowa was it?"
"Yeah." Trowa murmured. Mr. Fast talked to him about his classes and what would be done about the classes he had missed. Trowa groaned internally about the catching up he had to do. He had almost and entire novel to read before next week and about three tests to make up. On the up side he was allowed to try for his chair in the band in three weeks. Mr. Fast gave Trowa a quick tour of the school making sure to show him where the guidance counselor's office was.
"Well Trowa it seems you're just about 15 minutes late for your next class. It was physics right?" Mr. Fast said. Trowa nodded in response. This was the one thing Trowa was nervous about. He wasn't good at meeting new people. He always felt uncomfortable. Trowa followed Mr. Fast a little apprehensively into a classroom. Then nearly wilted with relief at what he saw there. A messy mop of dark brown hair shading an impossibly dark set of blue eyes sitting in the third row with thankfully, an empty seat right next to it. Trowa let his lips curve just slightly in Heero's direction while Mr. Fast spoke to the teacher. Heero returned the gesture an inclined his head slightly in the direction of the chair to his right. Trowa nodded in the affirmative.
"Class this is our new student Trowa Barton. I want everyone to try and help him if he needs it. Trowa I'll get you to sit down with someone. Is there anyone who will volunteer to help Trowa out for the next few weeks?" The teacher Dr Flint asked.
"I will." Heero said, leaning back in his chair slightly. The quiet chatter that had started in the room died instantly as all the other students stopped to stare at Heero. Heero never ever volunteered for ANYTHING. Let alone to help out a new student. Hell Heero never talked at all unless someone asked him a question. The class sat still stunned as Trowa slipped into his seat beside Heero.
"Am I ever glad to see you." Trowa whispered.
"Nervous?" Heero asked. Trowa nodded in answer as the teacher began to take up where he had left off. Heero reached over to scratch something on his paper. Glad you're back. Trowa smiled.
Trowa sighed feeling a little bored as he sat in the cafeteria. He looked at his boring sandwich and looked with distaste at the cafeteria lunches offered. Trowa sighed he had a long lunch too. This was going to be dull. Trowa immersed himself in eating his sandwich with a whole table of empty chairs for company. Then again if the chairs had been full he still wouldn't have felt better unless it was with the right people. Trowa sighed audibly.
"Hmm I really didn't expect to hear you make that much noise on your first day here." Came a rather dry clipped tone.
"Well boredom does often lead to the unexpected with us now doesn't it?" Trowa said turning to the source of the voice. Trowa was slightly taken aback to see a girl with two tight blond twist on either side of her face standing next to Wufei.
"Hi! I'm Sally. I'm with mannerless and grumpy." She said energetically with eyes that sparkled.
"Hello." Trowa replied. He was slightly surprised looking at Sally. She was dressed mildly trendy with hip hugging jeans and a tight black shirt. She had a pair of silver dangle earrings and necklace to match. She didn't really look like the type he had imagined Wufei going for.
"Can we sit with you? You look lonely and pretty damn bored." Sally asked looking at him expectantly.
"Yes." Was Trowa's reply.
They quickly fell into conversation as Wufei and Sally slipped into seats across the table. Well at least Sally did. She told him people's names as they walked by and waved or came over to talk to her. It quickly became obvious that Sally was quite well known in the school and lots of people liked her. Trowa felt vaguely uncomfortable with the amount of attention they were getting but he quickly came to realize that because Sally was there he was being introduced and welcomed quite easily and more readily rather than a more awkward self introduction. Through the entire lunch hour Trowa was still having problems understanding the sociable girl's relationship with his long time friend. He knew more than most about Wufei's good qualities he was just mildly surprised that this girl had managed to find them. Wufei wasn't exactly forthcoming about his more redeeming aspects. Especially with people who were, well, popular. He hated that crowd, calling them shallow and simple. His arm however, told a completely different story. It was draped behind Sally's chair or over her shoulders for the majority of the lunch hour. He would even occasionally tuck the stray lock of her that fell down gently behind her ear. Trowa was amused by the changes in his friend, to put it mildly. Quatre had told him that Sally was getting the Wufei they knew to come out in public but it was entirely different to see rather than imagine. Trowa found that he really liked Sally. She had the same kind of biting wit as Wufei, told perverted jokes like Duo and had an easy going manner that spoke of general friendliness like Quatre. They had all eaten snatching the good portions from each other's lunches.
"Well I gotta go boys. It's time for the student council meeting. Wouldn't do any good for one half of the social dance committee to not be there right?" Sally said, smirking broadly.
"Probably not." Trowa said softly.
"See you around Trowa." Sally said smiling her grin turned devilish as she leaned over Wufei's chair a little, her hands on his shoulders. "Buh-bye FeiFei."
"Damn it don't call me that here." Wufei snarled teeth bared the way he did when he was ready for an argument. Sally grinned and traced the shell of his ear with the tip of her tongue.
"FOR FUCK'S SAKE SALLY!!" Wufei practically shrieked bounced into a standing position. Sally cackled loudly and ran away. Everyone else had stopped to stare at Wufei including the teacher monitoring the cafeteria. Wufei slumped down into his seat, his face a red that Trowa knew could not possibly be healthy for him.
"One day I'm going to get that woman." Wufei muttered.
"You enjoy it." Trowa replied. He was mildly amused by the discovery. Then again Wufei loved above all things people that could challenge him and put up a good fight. Sally seemed to be doing an admirable job.
"How does it feel to be here?" Wufei asked as he leaned forward putting his elbows on the table.
"Better than I imagined." Trowa said letting his lips curve upward.
"Not as good as it will be once you actually get to see him." Wufei replied, smiling and leaning back to lounge in his chair.
"Am I that transparent?" Trowa asked his brows coming together.
"Only to us." Wufei replied. "There's no telling where he is right now. I'm not sure if he's back from the peer counseling workshop. If he's back he'll be in the student council meeting or one of the other meetings he has to go to."
"I just really want to see him." Trowa said looking at the table.
"You will and soon I'd bet. Like Quatre would let you get away with not." Wufei said his lips curving.
"TRO!!!!" A bellow from behind was all the warning Trowa got before someone plowed into his back their arms going around his neck like a vice.
"Hi Duo." Trowa rasped rather than said.
"Duo, let him breath." A low nasal voice commanded.
"But I'm happy to see him Heero." Duo whined bouncing into the seat on Trowa's right. Heero followed into the seat beside Duo a good deal more sedately.
Trowa found himself transported back in time. The four of them talked, joked and laughed like it had been all that time ago. Who ever said you can't go back lied horribly. Of course the conversation was different even some of their attitudes but the things that mattered were still the same. Wufei and Duo were still at odds with each other just on principle. Wufei and Heero teased and harassed the braided boy. He, Heero and Wufei could still communicate with a little vernacular and meaning looks. Trowa felt wonderful. He felt like he had gotten something back that he had lost. As soon as he saw Quatre, Trowa knew he'd be on top of the world.
[5] Mrs. Millet was the attendance secretary at my high school. She was awesome:)
[6] My high school Vice-Principle he was the best and was great at getting the things our student council needed.
[7] Yes my Physics teacher did talk to us about peeing in the shower. What do you expect the guy has a doctorate in physics?
[8] One of the best teachers I had. He was also a recruitment officer for the Navy. Rumors always flew that he was a lot more involved in military activities then that if you catch my drift.^__^
