Quatre pulled his black Nike ball cap down lower to better shade his face. He kept his clip-on sunglasses where they were and left the collar of his jacket rolled up as he entered the movie theatre's lobby. He made a careful study of the area before going to pay for his movie ticket through the Debit Express Lane machine. He wandered over to the snacks counter trying to make it look like his eyes weren't constantly scanning his surroundings for the smallest sign of anyone that might recognize him, making this whole adventure rather, awkward. He bought an obscenely large bag of popcorn and asked for extra butter.

From there Quatre walked over to the usher who was tearing the tickets for his theatre. Ignoring the mildly amused look the usher gave him as he handed back the ticket, Quatre made his way into the theatre. He wandered up the steps and down the aisle to stand next to someone about his own age, slumped down carelessly in a seat. The other boy was wearing dark "John Lennon style" round sunglasses to cover his unusual shade of eyes. His trademark thick brown braid was tucked into the back of his jacket, hidden to keep his anonymity.

"Is this seat taken?" Quatre asked, knowing full well it was not.

"No." The brunette replied.

Quatre settled into his seat and sunk down just a little tilting his chin to his chest as he took a side-long glance at the person next to him. His purple eyes were vigorously scanning the crowd checking for any trace of recognition from the patrons entering and exiting the theatre. They could both only guess what anyone would do if they found them attending this type of movie. Some would undoubtedly be as concerned as they were at being discovered. Others however, would have absolutely no qualms about exposing their "interests" even at the cost of embarrassing themselves. Quatre placed his massive bag of popcorn in his lap and began to munch.

"The movie is going to start soon Quatre." Duo sighed, finally relaxing his vigil.

"Did you buy them?" Quatre asked around a mouthful of popcorn.

"Yeah." Duo replied and opened up his jacket. He pulled the right side of his jacket away from his body exposing to bottles with familiar red and white labels tucked into an inside pocket.

"Good."

The lights began to dim and the theatre was half full. Quatre still sat with his sunglasses on and hat pulled low in the dark. Duo on the other hand, had pulled off his shades and tossed his hat down into his lap.

"It's all right Quatre. We made it. You can take your hat and shades off." Duo whispered.

"I know. I'm just still a little paranoid about being seen here. I really don't want to get caught." Quatre said, shedding his hat and slipping the clip-ons off his glasses.

"Gee, that wasn't a 'hand in the cookie' jar voice if I ever heard one. We're not doing anything wrong .... really......." Duo trailed off.

"It's just, I feel so uncomfortable lying to Trowa. And that you're lying to Heero, so we can be here together." Quatre said. Duo reached over and gave Quatre's hand a little squeeze.

"I know. I feel the same way, but can you imagine what Heero and Trowa would think of this? Let alone Wufei. I can only imagine what Mister High and Mighty would have to say about this." Duo muttered.

"I'm not denying that but-" Quatre was cut off abruptly by the 'blow your eardrums loud' THX Digital Sound plug. He left the rest of the conversation for after the movie as the films opening credits began to roll.

2 ½ hours later

Quatre smiled happily at Duo as they stood to leave. Two empty coke bottles, an empty bag of popcorn and a box of Milk Duds were left in their wake.

"So whaddya think?" Duo asked, a grin splitting his face.

"Pretty good." Quatre tossed over his shoulder as he navigated his way down the aisle towards the steps.

"But you still feel a little guilty." Duo said, making a face.

"Yes, but I'm still happy." Quatre froze where he was poised, about to step onto the stairs where another patron was so graciously allowing him to slip into the throng leaving the theatre. The blonde dimly felt his jaw drop to somewhere in the vicinity of the floor and might have heard the shocked, strangled noise his friend behind him made. Quatre, however, was more caught up in the stupefied looks, raging blushes and nervous squirming of the three people who had stalled in their tracks coming down the stairs.

They had come down single file. Heero was the last, shifting nervously from foot to foot, looking like there was nothing in the world he would have preferred more than to run and crawl under a rock. Trowa was the gracious patron standing at the front of the train. He stood looking more or less like he had been hit in the forehead with a brick. Standing in-between the two, turning a red that could not possibly be natural, was Wufei.

Quatre's mouth opened and closed a few times. Before the blonde even realized what was happening he was speaking.

"Since when would Chang Wufei, of the world's most discriminating literary and cinema graphic tastes, skip class to go see Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on opening day?"

You thought they were watching something bad didn't you?

*cackles* OK that was dumb but the idea popped into my head and wouldn't go away. Writing it was the only way I could purge this particular demon. ^_^
