Martyn is a self taught landscape artist from Wellington, New Zealand. He prefers
to paint landscapes with an abstract bias, giving the viewer the chance to think about the subject and where it
might be. Martyn has been painting and selling since leaving Wellington High School, with a painting always "on the go".
Martyn regularly submits to the NZ Academy of Fine arts along with the Affordable arts show and various small galleries around town. His first break came through the gallery in Island Bay run by Ian Logan, this helped give him the confidence to produce and develop his own distinctive artistic style. Martyn's goal is to someday become a full-time artist, currently though he must be content to find time after work and during the weekends. |
