        JOHN BUFFINGTON STICKNEY, b. in Lynn, May 25, 1832; m. in Boston, Nov. 10, 1863, Carrie F. Rust; had one child who was born in 1865, and died in infancy.

        He graduated at Yale College in 1856, and received his degree of A. B. there. Afterwards read law in New York and in his father's office, and in 1857 was admitted to the Bar. During the War he assisted in raising a Company of Volunteers and went into the U. S. service, Aug. 1, 1862, as Second Lieut. in Co. A, 35th Reg. of M. V.; was in the midst of the battles of Antietam, South Mountain, and Fredericksburg, and distinguished himself for his cool and courageous conduct, and was soon after, Oct. 14, 1862, promoted to the First Lieutenantcy, and June 17, 1863, to the captaincy of his company. He also acted as Judge Advocate, and for a time as Adjutant of the Regiment.

        In 1864, he removed to Florida, where he is now permanently settled as a lawyer, having recently received the appointment of States Attorney for the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida. He is also U. S. Commissioner for the Northern District of Florida, Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, etc. He resides at St. Augustine, St. John's Co., East Florida.

        GEORGE A. STICKNEY, b. in Hamilton, Oct. 4, 1842; m. in Salem, Nov. 6, 1865, Nellie J., dau. of James H. and Mary Henderson, who was b. in Rochester, N. H.

        "He died in Salem, Nov. 7, 1865, and was buried Nov. 8, his funeral being attended by Henfield Division Sons of Temperance, and by the Salem Cadets. He was formerly a member of Co. D, 1st Mass. Heavy Artillery, from which he was discharged for sickness. He nearly recovered his health, but a severe attack of diptheria caused his death."

        RUFUS STICKNEY, b. in Gardner, Mass., May, 1838; unmarried. He enlisted from Gardner in 1862 (when he is of Templeton), as Sergeant of 53d Mass. Reg., Co. G. He was an invalid soldier, and reached New York on the steamer St. Mary's from New Orleans, Aug. 14, 1863, and was sent to Fort Schuyler, by order of the medical director, and from thence to his home.

        THOMAS EDWARD STICKNEY, b. in Fitchburg, May 27, 1845; enlisted in the U. S. Service, Jan. 11, 1864, under Captain Albert J. Pratt, Co. I, 56th Reg. Mass. Vet. Vol., 9th Army Corps, Gen. Burnside, and at the crossing of the North Anna River, while charging on a battery, was shot through the head and instantly killed, May 24, 1864.

        ENOCH PIERCE STICKNEY, b. in Newburyport, July 31, 1833; m. Sept. 6, 1857, Sarah Jane H., dau. of Charles and Ann (Hale) Currier. She was b. Sept. 6, 1834. He is a grocer, of the firm of Stickney & Goodwin, and resides in Newburyport.

                Five children:-

        GEORGE WILLIAM STICKNEY, b. in Newburyport, Nov. 19, 1839; m. March 18, 1859, Sarah, dau. of James and Mary (Keene) Berry, who was b. July 1, 1838. He enlisted from Newburyport, in 8th Mass. Reg., Co. A. He resides in Newburyport.

        CHARLES FRANKLIN STICKNEY, b. in Brentwood, N. H., Feb. 9, 1844; removed with his parents to Epping, N. H.; enlisted from there in the 11th N. H. Reg., Co. A, Aug. 28, 1862; promoted to Corporal and killed at Jackson, Mississippi, July 12, 1863.

        MELLEN LUTHER STICKNEY, b. in Boston, July 27, 1843; m. May 8, 1866, Olive Elizabeth Leeman, who was b. Oct. 16, 1844. He resides in Jefferson, Maine.
