The school generally has one-hour periods, starting each day with a brief form period and then two periods before interval, two periods after interval and one period after lunch. This is a relatively unique structure and has been proven to be highly successful in maximising the most effective learning time of the day, i.e. before lunchtime. This pattern is being adopted by other schools as they start to realise the benefits it has for the learner.
On a Wednesday morning students start school a little later at 9.45 am, so the school is able to place considerable emphasis on the effective professional development of the staff. The staff has a one and a half hour session every Wednesday morning, as well as other regular staff meetings out of school hours and at weekends.
