A suprise birthday party for Springhill Aviation Club Life Member, Larry Svetlik was celebrated at Springhill on Sunday 25th March 2007. Larry turned 90 on the Friday previous. Still going remarkably well despite the years. Larry was very appreciative of the attention given to him and said it was the best birthday he had ever had.

A special cake was made in his honour and Joan provided bubbly for all, and members provided a great variety table of eats. Prior to members gathering in the hangar, Dave Fletcher took Larry for a half hour flight in the Robin as a birthday treat. On disembarking from the aircraft Larry was then led to the hangar to be confronted with a vocal "Happy Birthday" greeting suprise.
