What is this "Vicino" thing, anyway?

Vicino is an apartment development in three stages. Stage 1 has been complete and accupied for a while; Stage 2 (which will include our apartment) is being constructed behind it; and Stage 3 is still only a proposal at this stage. Stages 1 and 2 are conversions of an old car factory, whereas Stage 3 would be a brand new building.

Where is Vicino?

Stage 1 is at 31-37 Taranaki St, between Courtenay Place and Wakefield Street, and Stage 2 is behind it, a few metres away from the street.

When will it be finished?

If you find out, please let us know! But seriously folks, our latest estimates can be found on the timelines page.

Why bother?

We have friends and family overseas, and we'd like to let them know how our new home is coming along. We'll also broaden the scope to include local events, history and controversies.

Technical

Why does it look strange?

If you've got an old browser (older than version 4), it won't recognise the style sheets on this site. The navigation menus, in particular, might look a little odd, but you should still be able to find your way around, read all the text and see all the images.
