Possibly Asked Questions
Q: Vorb sounds cool, I'm in
Wellington how do I hook up with you guys?
A: The VORB List is pretty much at capacity
at the moment and we're keen on keeping it simple and friendly. My best
suggestion is - get the e-mail addresses of a couple of your mates that ride and
start your own mailing list. Get them to invite their own mates and add those to
your list, you'll also find yourself collecting similarly minded riders out on
the trails. Viola - too easy.
Q: What does V.O.R.B stand for?
A: Originally Vaguely Organised, Ride Bikes -
but Vorb has become a word in it's own right.
Q: How does the decision making process in
VORB work?
A: In the areas of list administration,
website etc, Tama does whatever the hell he wants to until people tell him
otherwise. This is known as benevolent despotism don't question it and no
one gets hurt.
On the trail the following steps are more or less followed:
Step 1) When a decision needs to be made someone has an outbreak of
inspiration and makes a coherent suggestion.
Step 2) If the suggestion is deemed to be based in reality and sounds fun
the group goes with it.
Step 3) Otherwise, a impromptu discussion forum is formed where people
are free to give their opinions on where the group should be heading, what they
thought of a particular movie, and the personality defects of people close to
them.
Step 4) Sooner or later Step 1 is repeated.
This works surprisingly well and is known as mob tactics or anarchy.
