Confirmation 2008

Congratulations to the children of St. Anne's and St. Francis de Sales who received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Archbishop John Dew Tuesday24 June.

The Commissioning of the Wellington South Pastoral Area

took place at the 10am Mass on Sunday 9 December,

celebrated by Archbishop John Dew.

I only managed to take a limited number of photos and would be delighted to receive more. (email:  j.andersen@paradise.net.nz

In particular I would like to include ones that show the important contribution of the Samoan community to the celebrations.

Parishioners from many of the ethnic communities within the two parishes also shared prayers in their different languages,

reflecting the diverse threads that weave together to form the rich tapestry that is our Catholic Faith.

Parishioners from St. Anne's and St. Francis de Sales

came together to celebrate this new beginning.

Archbishop John Dew spoke of the importance of getting to

know each other, breaking barriers and hope for the future.

Karen Holland was commissioned as the Lay Pastoral Leader for the South Wellington Pastoral Area.  Supporting priests included Fr. John Berry, Fr. Gerard Burns, Fr. Patrick Bridgman

Fr. Geoff Broad (Island Bay), Mrs Karen Holland (Newtown)

and  Fr. Ray Stachurski: Hospital Chaplain - the

South Wellington Pastoral Area Team

Fr. Geoff Broad and Mrs Karen Holland, in unison, light the South Wellington Pastoral candle.

The St. Anne's and St. Francis de Sales combined music groups.
