Shufflebotham

Margaret Shufflebotham (abt 1829-188?) married Joseph Dalton on 12 December 1852 at Saint Andrew’s, Penrith, Cumberland, England. Margaret’s father was listed as James Shufflebotham, Gentleman’s Servant. Margaret was christened at Saint Andrew’s, Penrith on 8 February 1829, the daughter of James Shufflebotham and Jane Thompson, who married on 16 October 1827 at Manchester Cathedral, Lancashire, England. James and Jane had one other known child, Thomas Thompson Shufflebotham, christened 12 September 1830 at Manchester Cathedral. It looks likely that James, Jane and son Thomas all died prior to the 1841 census as Margaret was found living in a household with a few other children in Penrith, Cumberland and there was no sign of her parents or brother.
