Cuthbert Robson, a widower, married Margaret Stapport nee Thompson (widow of William Stapport) on 22 March 1772 at St Michael & All Angels, Newburn, Northumberland, England.

 

Cuthbert and Margaret were the parents of:

 

·              Mary Robson born in Lemington and christened 27 December 1772 at St Michael’s, Newburn;

 

·              William Robson born in Lemington and christened 2 April 1775 at St Michael’s, Newburn;

 

·              Elizabeth Robson born in Lemington and christened 22 June 1777 at St Michael’s, Newburn married John Musgrove (born in Newburn and christened 27 December 1778 at St Michael’s, Newburn, the son of John Musgrove and Elizabeth Stewart) on 1 January 1798 at St Michael’s, Newburn (for more information on the descendants of Elizabeth Robson and John Musgrove please see our Musgrove family tree);

 

·              Thomas Robson born in Lemington and christened 25 July 1779 at St Michael’s, Newburn married Mary Wardle (christened 1 July 1781 at St Andrew’s, Heddon on the Wall, the daughter of George Wardle and Mary Longlands) on 12 August 1799 at St Michael’s, Newburn. Thomas, a pitman, and Mary were the parents of:

 

·              George Robson born at Dewley Burn on 7 October 1800 and christened at St Michael’s, Newburn on 30 November 1800;

 

·              William Robson born at Throckley Red Row on 10 June 1802 and christened on 31 October 1802 at St Michael’s, Newburn; and

 

·              Michael Robson born at Throckley Red Row on 18 February 1806 and christened on 2 March 1806 at St Michael’s, Newburn.

 

Mary Robson nee Wardle died on 12 February 1807 at Throckley Red Row and was buried at St Michael’s, Newburn on 14 February 1807, aged 28 years.

 

Thomas married Ann Lynn of Bolam (christened 14 February 1773 at St Andrew’s, Bolam, the daughter of Andrew Lynn and Jane Robinson) at St Michael’s, Newburn on 6 December 1807. Thomas and Ann had one child:

 

·              Cuthbert Robson born at Dewley Burn and christened at St Michael’s, Newburn on 26 February 1815.

 

Thomas Robson died prior to the 1841 Census but his death/burial has not yet been located.

 

·              Isabella Robson born in Lemington and christened 8 July 1781 at St Michael’s, Newburn married (1) John Parkinson from North Shields on 30 January 1802 at St Bartholomew’s, Longbenton. Isabella and John, a sailor, had one child:

 

·              Margaret Parkinson born 8 May 1802 in Dewley Burn and christened at St Michael’s, Newburn on 18 September 1803 married Fenwick Whiteford (born 4 December 1797 and christened 22 April 1798 at St Nicholas, Newcastle Upon Tyne, the son of Matthew Whiteford and Margaret Whiteford) on 21 April 1820 at St Michael’s, Newburn. Margaret and Fenwick, a coal miner, were the parents of:

 

·              Thomas Whiteford born Dewley Burn and christened at St Michael’s, Newburn on 8 July 1821;

·              Ann Whiteford born New Winning and christened at St Michael’s, Newburn on 21 December 1823;

·              Mary Ann Whiteford born 27 April 1828 and christened at All Saints, Newcastle Upon Tyne on 24 April 1830;

·              Matthew Whiteford born in Newburn and christened at All Saints, Newcastle Upon Tyne on 24 April 1830; and

·              Margaret Whiteford born Dewley Burn and christened at St Michael’s, Newburn on 24 June 1832.

 

Fenwick Whiteford died in Wallbottle and was buried at St Michael’s, Newburn on 5 December 1833, aged 38 years.

 

John Parkinson’s death has still to be located but was probably circa 1802/1803, possibly at sea.

 

Isabella Parkinson nee Robson had a relationship with Jonathan Forster and had an illegitimate son who is recorded in the Bishops’ Transcripts (p. 207/452) for St Michael’s, Newburn as:

 

·              William Forster of Dewlay Burn [born] December 21st 1804, [bapt.] June 14th [1805] Illegitimate son of Isabella Parkinson, Native of this Parish & Jonathan Forster, Pitman, Native of this Parish ( [] & contents added for clarity).

 

Isabella Parkinson nee Robson married (2) Thomas Musgrove (born in Newburn and christened 22 June 1783 at St Michael’s, Newburn, the son of John Musgrove and Elizabeth Stewart) on 21 December 1807 at St Michael’s, Newburn (for more information on the descendants of Isabella Robson and Thomas Musgrove please see our Musgrove family tree ~ Isabella and Thomas are Lynne’s 4x Great Grandparents).

 

Cuthbert Robson may have died in Black Callerton, as there was a burial at St Michael’s, Newburn on 15 September 1793, however, as no age or other details were given it is not absolutely certain.

 

Margaret Robson formerly Stapport nee Thompson may also have died in Black Callerton as there was a burial on 13 December 1796 at St Michael’s, Newburn, however, once again, no age or other details so it is not absolutely certain.
