Thomas
Coulson & Mary Short
Thomas Coulson was
born in Gunnerton, Northumberland, England and christened at St Giles,
Chollerton on 30 July 1815, the son of Thomas Coulson and Elizabeth
Davison.
Thomas married Mary
Short of Simonburn (born about 1819, thought to be the daughter of Joseph
Short and Sarah Smith) on 26 October 1844 at St Giles,
Chollerton.
Thomas, a shoemaker, and Mary
were the parents of:

Davison
Coulson born Gunnerton and christened 14 December 1845 at St
Giles, Chollerton died in Gunnerton and was buried at St Giles, Chollerton on
28 May 1863;
·
Sarah
Coulson born Gunnerton and christened 21 October 1846 at St
Giles, Chollerton died in Gunnerton and was buried at Chollerton on 9 June
1851, aged 4 years;
·
Joseph
Coulson born Gunnerton and christened 29 October 1848 at St
Giles, Chollerton died in Gunnerton and was buried at Chollerton on 9 June
1851, aged 2 years; and
·
Elizabeth
Coulson born Gunnerton and christened 9 June 1851 at St Giles,
Chollerton was the only child of Thomas and Mary’s
to survive into adulthood. However, nothing more is known about Elizabeth
after 1881 at which time she was still unmarried.
Thomas Coulson died
in Gunnerton and was buried at St Giles, Chollerton on 26 March 1892, aged 76
years.
Mary
Coulson nee Short died in 1893, aged 73
years.
