COULSON

Dad and I are interested in hearing from anyone who is or may know of descendants of George COULSON and Mary Jane BELL of East Woodburn/Kirkwhelpington/Capheaton, Northumberland. George and Mary Jane were the parents of Edward born 1877 at East Woodburn (our ancestor), John born 1879 at East Woodburn, Frances born 1881 at East Woodburn, Thomas born 1883 at Kirkwhelpington, Mary Ann born about 1885 at Kirkwhelpington, George born about 1887 at Kirkwhelpington, Margaret Jane born about 1889 at Kirkwhelpington, Francis Joseph born 1891 at Kirkwhelpington, and Millicent Elizabeth born 1896 at Capheaton.

George COULSON was a Tailor and the Postmaster at Capheaton Village for many years. He died at Capheaton in 1915. His son Edward died in South Africa in 1906, son John died in 1919 at Gosforth and youngest son Francis Joseph was accidentally killed at Chatham, Kent in 1935. One of George and Mary Jane’s daughters was married to John ROWELL and they lived at Manor Farm, Benton, which is where Mary Jane nee BELL died in 1937.

If you have any information or are related we would like to hear from you! Thank you.

COULSON ~ MUNDLE

Margaret COULSON married Hugh MUNDLE in Corsenside and they had 4 children.  Two of the girls died unmarried, one in her late twenties, and the other in her teens.  Their only son was killed in WW1.  The fourth child, a daughter, married and had two daughters.  Margaret died in 1935 and Hugh in 1910, both in Haltwhistle, Northumberland.  Hugh MUNDLE was a brother to my great-grandmother, Jane MUNDLE.    Alison, Sydney Oz.
