Avro Lancaster B.III, 1/48 Scale, 75 (NZ) Squadron, January 1945

(also see Profiles and Articles)

Currently on display at Ashburton Aviation Museum

Note: Since completing this model I have received further information and photos regarding 'The Captain's Fancy' which show that the code 'JN' should be behind the roundel on the port side and that the serial letters 'NE' should sit above the number '181'.

This photo shows two wonderful gentlemen with the model in its 75 Squadron tribute at the Ashburton Air Museum, Ashburton airport.
On the left is Alex Simpson, the pilot who flew 'The Captain's Fancy' (amongst many other aircraft during the war) and on the right is Ron Baker, a navigator on the Squadron and eventually the squadron's Chief Navigation Officer.
