Historic Aviation Services specialises in providing accurate, authentic information for artists, model-makers, historians and the family of aircrew members. We can also build models and create profiles on a commission basis.
We specialise in the 'New Zealand' squadrons* of World War Two, as well as all other aspects of the Royal New Zealand Air Force and general New Zealand aviation.To give an indication of what we do, here are some examples of work undertaken recently:
- Currently building an RNZAF UH-1H Irquois in 1/35.
- Some NZ armour photos here.
- Commission built 1/48 and 1/32 scale A-4K Skyhawks.
- Provided service and burial details of a NZ pilot killed in World War Two for a family member visiting Europe.
- Contacted a Hawker aircraft airframe restorer to determine the colour of airframe tubing for a Hurricane.
- Traced a surviving crewman to determine details of the nose artwork his aircraft carried.
- Commission-built a 1:48 scale model of a TA-4K Skyhawk.
