75 (New Zealand) Squadron Lancasters: Part 3

Avro Lancaster B.I AA-A NG448 "Seven Sinners"

Flight Sergeant D. Fairbairn often flew AA-A during 1945. He stayed in the RAF after the war, changed branch to GD Ground (ATC), and retired as a Squadron Leader.

Notes: Rotol propellers, late pitot head position and late nose-blister.

Avro Lancaster B.III AA-O ND752

This photo shows AA-O, flown by Pilot Officer H. Burtt, returning from an operation to Cagny. This aircraft, with P/O Burtt and crew, failed to return from an operation to Homberg on the 20 July 1944.

Notes: Bulged bomb-bay doors, early position pitot head and what looks like an early style nose-blister. No H2S but chaff chute fitted.

Avro Lancaster B.I AA-G HK576

Late position pitot head and paddle-blade propellers. Note that the style of bomb mission symbol changes after the 26th mission.

No further details known but suspect this aircraft to have bulged bomb bay doors, no H2S and late style nose-blister as is in the same serial batch as HK554 JN-F.
