We are a Kiwi (New Zealander) and a Catracho (Honduran) happily married and currently living in Palmerston North, New Zealand... and now expecting our first child!

We met in 2000, while working aboard the Mercy Ship MV Caribbean Mercy, danced together for the first time in Cartagena, Colombia, had our first date in Puerto Barrios, Guatemala, and our first valentines day in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic!

We were engaged in April 2001 in Hot Springs, Arkansas (USA) and married on November 24, 2001 in Wellington, New Zealand.

Luis was born in Danli, Honduras, moving to Tegucigalpa as a teenager then on to Nicaragua where he spent several years working with YWAM before joining the Mercy Ships. He is currently taking the opportuity to study in New Zealand, and half-way through his final year of university. He has been studing for a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Politics (with forays into development studies, anthropology and sociology!)

Sharon was born in Hokitika, New Zealand, but now calls Wellington home. She is a registered nurse, but has taken time off from nursing to pursue a Masters Degree in Development Studies. She has nearly finished her thesis... and then plans to be a stay-at-home mum for a few months at least!
