Pencil on paper. Cherub. 1994, I think. |
 |
Pencil on paper. Jonathan Rhys Meyers from the BBC's Gormenghast, Velvet Goldmine, The Maker, Michael Collins, The Governess, etc.
I drew this in September, 2000. A pretty basic pencil sketch. I'm not completely happy with it, as it doesn't quite look like him, but, nevermind. |

Pencil on paper. This is a sketch of David Boreanaz, best known for his role as Angel in the hit TV series "Buffy, The Vampire Slayer", and, of course, now the "Angel" series... unfortunately for us NZ fans we have to buy the videos to see the show. I can't remember exactly when I did this, I think it was sometime in the first half of 2000. |

Retractable pencil on paper. My Grandma's blue budgie, Timmy, who flew away sometime in 1999. I drew this one day when visiting Grandma in January 1998. Timmy wasn't too happy with me staring at him, he kept squarking, but I drew him anyway. I like these sketches. One lesson I continually relearn is that drawings always turn out better when they are done from life, rather than photos. |

Pencil on paper. Nic Testoni, who used to be on the Australian soap Home and Away. I drew this because I liked the folds in the material of his t-shirt and jeans, and the veins visible on his arms and hands.
I think I did this in 1996. |

Ink pen on paper. This is copied directly out of an issue of "The Art of Drawing and Painting". It took me 24hrs in total, spread over two weeks. It is a stippling. That means I sketched it out in pencil, then proceeded to fill it in and define it with dots. Lots of tiny little dots made by 0.01mm and 0.03mm ink pens. The whiskers were then scraped back using a craft knife.
This was done in February 1996, and the original hangs in my flat living room (it's bigger than it looks on screen). |

Oil pastel and paint on paper. A picture I did for my 7th form art folio (1997). It was originally just an oil pastel picture, but it was a bit dull, so I went over it with oil paint. Inspired by Franz Marc. |

Horse in pencil. 12 July 1996. |
 |
Horses, oil on sheet. I did this oil painting, on old bed-sheet, for my portfolio for 7th form art in 1997. Inspired by Franz Marc. |

Trees in indian ink. I did this indian ink on paper sometime in 1995 for 5th form art. I like it, just because it appeals to me for some reason. I believe it was drawn with a stick dipped in ink, if I remember correctly. |
