H.V.Morton born 1892 died 1979. Some called him "Flowery" many called him the best travel writer ever. Regardless, generations have read the many
exploits of this very English gentleman. His portrayal of English life in the 20's
30's and 40's, his travels to lands near and far were all described in a manner
that all people could relate to.
Many now read these books in an effort to retrace the days that have nearly been forgotten. Many of H.V's books are still
in print and are used by his followers to explore the lands and customs he had described.
In fact, I once followed the path he used in his book,
In Search of England and I was surprised to find many things he described were still there.
Because of the talent for highly descriptive narrative together with fast moving pace, I hope that future generations will find these books of help in understanding the way the world has changed, be it for better or worse.
My intention for producing this site is purely to encourage more people to read the books of H.V.
Morton.
I would also like people to contact me with any thoughts, comments or information that I can use to keep this site up to date.
