MANA Integrative Therapies presents Myofascial Massage Weekend Workshop

4-day Myofascial Massage Skills Training

February 17-21,2006              at Waimana, Coromandel ( adjacent to Mana Retreat Centre )

These courses provide a comprehensive introduction to person-centred structural bodywork. They are a foundation training in myofascial massage techniques and are designed for body therapy practitioners or those with experience in related fields such as pilates, fitness, physical education, medicine, counselling, martial arts, yoga and other movement fields.

  Participants will explore:

·        Structural concepts for human design and function and

      movement experiences to achieve a more resilient and alive body

·        Myofascial massage techniques for working on the table,

·        Techniques for working in seated and standing positions

·        active client movement participation in the   bodywork process.

·        Body reading – structural, functional, energetic and

      movement analysis.

·        A problem solving approach to session design using

      bodyreading, assessment & a 3-session series design.

·        Ergonomics – maintaining your structural integrity as you work. ·        An introduction to a body psychotherapy approach -   how emotions and meaning affect the bodywork process

  Sol Petersen has been working in the field of Somatic Therapies for over 25 years.

He is a Structural Integration trainer, an Aston Movement Coach, a Cranio-Sacral Therapist, a certified Watsu practitioner and a graduate of the Hakomi School of Experiential Psychology.

Sol lives in New Zealand and teaches internationally.

  Tuition for the 2-day workshop is $250 & full accommodation is $140. Tuition for the 4-day workshop is $450 and full accommodation is $280. Payment plans are possible. The class begins at 7:30 pm on Friday evening and there is a light meal available at 6 pm .
