Waist not

One of the more enduring ficts is that the measurement that makes the difference for men's health is circumference at the belly button. This isn't the same thing as a waist measurement. If the great circle exceeds 100 cm or 40 inches then the circulation to and from vital internal organs is impaired. Exercise may tone the abs but its diet that ensures fat does build up and squeeze the life out of the vital organs.

IMHO, unsupported except by personal experience, are the key factors to a slimmer waist

  1. Nutrient flax fibre. I eat a porridge made from two heaped table spoons of Waihi Bush Flax fibre and hot water every morning. Someone else's flax fibre might work just as well. I don't know. What I do know is I lost 10 cm doing what I've been doing.
  2. Salmon oil
  3. Fish replacing a large proportion of meat
  4. Eating rye/linseed bread instead of wheat based breads.
  5. Eating small low glycemic index snack like meals every 4 hours during the day.
  6. Never making a meal of it.
  7. A good men's multivitamin.

There may be more or less to this than I think. Please accept that I haven't the foggiest what might work or even what is safe for you.

Consult your own medical advisor if you're looking for advice.
