Pink Elephant was founded in 1990 by Roger Pink, an Englishman from Kent, disgruntled with the poor quality of 'beer' available in New Zealand.
True ales were extremely rare at this time so the first offerings were PBA, a hoppy bitter of 5% abv; Mammoth, a full-flavoured deep amber 'pale ale' of 7% abv; and PDA, a dark, hoppy porter style with complex roast malt flavours.
All distinctive true ales to educate the uninitiated and satisfy the discerning.
The Brewery has received various awards for it's beers and has created many different styles over the years.
It now produces several beers including private commissions and seasonal specials.
