Specially selected TOP FERMENTING ALE YEASTS are used. These are chosen so that the yeast type
is matched to the particular style of beer being made. This is one of the contributing factors which enables
us to produce Genuine Ales in both the technical and traditional sense.
WATER
The MINERAL BALANCE of the water is specifically adjusted to suit each type of ale. This is an essential
contribution to the complexity of flavour appropriate to the style. Historically the nature of the local
water determined the beer styles that could be produced. Thus the water's correct mineral balance is of
fundamental importance to the creation of authentic beer styles.
HOPS
The Pink Elephant Brewery uses the best hops available in the world. These are grown right here in .................
New Zealand!
MALT
The BEST QUALITY MALT AND GRAINS are sourced from around the world but where possible these are
also produced in New Zealand. Several different types may be used in one recipe giving the complex flavours
and aromas that are a feature of these full-bodied ales.
