Roger has received awards and accolades aplenty. In 1999 he was runner up in the Supreme Award at the
prestigious NZ beer awards with his gold medal winning 'Roger's Reserve'. Two silver medals in the 2000
competition place him in an elite group of top brewers. Roger's Ales have been exported to Germany and
Australia. He also features in Michael Jackson's book 'Great Beer Guide - 500 of The World's Greatest Beers'
earning the distinction of having not one but two beers included in this 'bible'.
The Craft beer revolution taking place in most developed brewing countries is snowballing.
'Microbrewers are the people making the interesting beer in this country' says Richard Brimer in his book
Microbreweries of NZ. 'They're willing to experiment and the handcrafted element of their brewing keeps
the standards high'
REVOLUTION
The growing number of beer connoisseurs with an appreciation for quality beer is testament to the enthusiasm
of people like Roger Pink. 'Appreciation with moderation' and 'Best imbibed at 12 degreesC'
(traditional cellar temperature) is recommended so the flavours and aromas of each individual style of beer
can be best appreciated. A range of flavours such as coffee, caramel, marmalade and chocolate will explode
onto the palate accompanied by floral or fruity aromas.
