Pluto are going into the studio to record the first single (from the new album) to be released late this month/early November. Although the album is mostly done, they wanted something that was fresh for them as well as for everyone else.

On a lighter note, they played a great gig at the Dogs Bollix in Auckland on Thursday night and even managed to rub shoulders with the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club who were in town that night, and caught their set!

The first single from Pluto's second album (title still unknown) is due out in six weeks with the video being released at the same time as TV4's new music channel c4.

Pluto recently played two successful gigs at the Kings Arms in Auckland and the band is set to record the final tracks to complete album #2 . A nationwide and Australian tour will be taking place over the next three months. Shows will include the X-box party on October 2nd, two more Auckland dates and a Wellington gig in mid-November at Bar Bodega .

The Australian version of Redlightsyndrome is currently in the process of being printed and contains some different tracks from the original version!

Tim and Milan played a duet show together in London on Wednesday night to precede plans for UK Pluto gigs in November.

Sounds like Pluto had a great time in Australia! They managed to score themselves a one album deal with Karmic Hit Records/MGM Distribution, and will be releasing a revamped version of Red Light Syndrome (with a few different tracks and bonus b-sides) as early as September.

In addition, Pluto have resolved their legal dispute with Antenna Records and have now left the label. They are now free to release the new album with whoever they like, so things are looking pretty good!

Apparently Pluto will appear on the television show The Fish And The Fury next Tuesday 13th May, 11.30pm. Whether they will be performing, or a music video is played is unknown. Guests include Anika Moa, and other music includes Voom and Betchadupa.

Spread the word to our Aussie neighbours, Pluto will be heading across the ditch to play Sydney on 22nd May! And then two more dates in Melbourne with Cassette. The band have contributed the song Hey Little on a promo compilation for a company wanting to release Red Light Syndrome, so one of the reasons for the mini-tour to show case the band. Go Pluto!

On Your Own has been announced as the second single from Pluto's upcoming album. Look out for the music video coming soon!

Unfortunately a few legal issues have been holding back the release of Pluto's second album. Keyboardist Matthias Jordan says:

"There is some light at the end of the tunnel that has been the legal hold ups with the second album, it's all done but we have been unable to make that many moves while the mess is being tidied up. Perfectly Evil has gotten good rotation on Juice and M2 and we have just started work on the second video for On Your Own which will be the second single from the new album. So new stuff will keep coming out to spite hold ups. Nevertheless the second album will be worth the wait, we are really happy with it, not to mention looking forward to playing all the new tunes."

In addition, there is an apology to those who attended Bandz in the Square in February:

"Sorry to any fans at Square in Wellington last Saturday [1st February]. We had howling feedback on stage during the whole gig from the monitors (that's the last time we don't bring Mike our sound guy). Still I think it was the same for all the bands that played."

And apologies from me for the delay in posting this news! Due to technical issues, I did not receive it until recently. It's probably more reliable to send news directly to my e-mail: lea@nzoomail.com.

In future news, look forward to a Pluto Discussion Forum coming soon to this website!
