The High Tatras  [Slovakia, 1995] The High Tatras, with peaks of over 2600m, are the highest mountains in the Carpathian Range, a horseshoe-shaped range of mountains that sweeps through Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine and Romania. In a country which consists almost entirely of mountains, the Tatras offer some of the best hiking in Central Europe.
