About the author

Peter de Graaf spent seven years in the Czech Republic, much of it in the South Bohemian town and brewing centre of Ceske Budejovice (see map).

When not in the pubs "Dvojka" and "U Havrana", he could be found teaching English, translating, and travelling around the country's castles, historic towns and various other piles of rubble.

He is now a journalist in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.

This site was built as an internet journalism assignment at Auckland University of Technology. It is meant to be a light-hearted introduction to the Czech Republic, and does not pretend to be objective or the last word on all things Czech.
