General Notes: Wife - Matilda Jane SAKEY
Birth cert no. 107 / 1867 Auckland register, nothing else known in NZ. Appeared in Sydney 1886 where she gave birth to William James, (father not known) and she married Edward Coote two years later. There was one son from this marriage, Edward H. T. Coote born in Sydney 1888 (cert no. 88 03217) but it seems that her husband died shortly after (death cert 88 01094). Matilda remained in Sydney and married Frederick Smith in 1890, her address at that time was Belmore Lane Surry Hills. There were 6 more children from this marriage and they lived at 50 Campbell St Newtown, it is probable that William and Edward lived there with them because they are shown as sibblings on the youngest child's birth cert. Matilda died of Pernicious Anaemia in 1914 (death cert #15097) her address at that time was 27 Hordern Street Newtown. She is burried in grave #9360 C of E section "T" at Rookwood, her husband Frederick died 12 years later and is burried in the same grave. There is a headstone in good condition

One day Charles got lost at the cemetery, he was a young child of about 5 or 6.
