is a wonderful woman of God who takes her time to
share what He teaches her with us.
One of the many reasons I
choose to Home-school my children has to do with
the scripture below, which is the greatest
command that has been given to parents. It is in
Deuteronomy 6:4-9.
"These words, which I
command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently
unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when
thou sittest in thine house, and when thou
walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and
when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for
a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as
frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt
write them upon the posts of thy house, and on
thy gates."
Teaching them diligently
would mean to teach them all throughout the
day...sounds like a full-time job to me! Here is
another great verse in Proverbs 6:20-24

"Keep, my son, the
commandment of your father, and do not neglect
the teaching of your mother; bind
them upon your heart always, fasten them around
your neck. When you are walking about it will
lead you; when you are lying down, it will watch
over you; and when you awake, it will speak to
you. For to you the commandment is a lamp, the
teaching a light, and the reproofs of
discipline a way of life to keep you from the
evil woman..."
God says a "mother's
teaching" will be a "light" to her
children. Teaching is part of a mother's career.
Just these two verses were enough for me to
understand what God required of me.

Ten Reasons to Homeschool
1. Academic- tutoring is the
best method of education.
2. Values- these are caught not taught. Whose
values are your children catching?
3. Family bonds are strengthened.
4. Peer group bonds are weakened.
5. Discipline problems are spotlighted, faced,
and dealt with.
6. Children are more secure.
7. Children are socially more adept and
confident.
8. Children benefit spiritually.
9. A more life-related curriculum can be taught.
10. It gives more opportunities to focus on
teaching the children character.
*Bonus* You get to grow some character
too!
Children will learn far
more from your daily attitude in the home than
they will learn from what you teach them!
