Serena's Favourite Chocolate Recipes

Chocolate Self-Saucing Pudding

100 g soften butter
¾ cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla essence

Sauce
½ cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cornflour

1 ¼ cups plain baking flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp cocoa
2 cups boiling water

¼ cup cocoa

Beat butter, sugar, egg and vanilla together. And then add flour, baking powder and cocoa together and mix into beaten mixture. Spoon mixture into a greased ovenproof dish. Sprinkle sauce mixture over. Pour boiling water over the back of a spoon onto the pudding. Bake at 180oC for 35 minutes or until cooked. Enjoy! :o)

Sauce
Combine all ingredients.


All Time Favourite Chocolate Cake

1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp cocoa
1 tsp vanilla essence
3 eggs

75 g melted butter
3 tbsp milk
2 tsp baking powder

 

In a bowl place all the ingredients except the baking powder. Beat at medium speed with an electric beater for 3 minutes. Beat in the baking powder. Pour the mixture into cake tin and bake in a pre-heated oven at 190oC for 25-30 minutes or until cooked. Ice with chocolate frosting when cake has cooled down.
Variation: Add a tablespoon of Peanut Butter into the mixture to make a crunchy nutty flavour. Yummy!!!

Chocolate Chip Muffins

1 ½ cups self-raising flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk
1 cup chocolate chips
1 ½ tsp cocoa

½ cup sugar
¼ tsp salt
1 egg
1/3 cup melted butter

Sift dry ingredients into a bowl and add chocolate chips. Combine egg, milk and butter. Stir lightly into flour mixture. Grease muffin tray and pour mixture in. Bake at 190oC for 20 minutes. Delicious :o}

Chocolate Slice

1 packet plain biscuits, crushed
100 g butter
½ tin condensed milk

1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tbsp cocoa

Melt butter and condensed milk. Add crushed biscuits, vanilla and cocoa. Press out into shallow tin and put in fridge. Ice with chocolate icing. Mmmm!!!

13 RULES OF CHOCOLATE

  1. If you've got melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.

  2. Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices & strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.

  3. The problem: How to get 2 pounds of chocolate home from the store in a hot car.The solution: Eat it in the parking lot.

  4. Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite and you'll eat less.

  5. A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Isn't that handy?

  6. If you can't eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer. But if you can't eat all your chocolate, what's wrong with you?

  7. If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge. Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.

  8. If I eat equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate, is that a balanced diet? Don't they actually counteract each other?

  9. Money talks. Chocolate sings.

  10. Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger.

    A. Because no one wants to quit.
