These days celebrations have
gone way out material and commercial, but it
doesn't have to be like that. Why not give
something from your heart? Something that you've
made and put your time and effort into with that
person in mind? These kinds of gifts are far more
precious than those that have been quickly bought
from a shop without too much thought for the
person receiving it. Try writing a poem or a
song. Make a card or a craft - whatever you come
up with be creative!

Make memories last!
Try making your own
family traditions. ~IDEAS~
* I know of one family who have everyone present
at the birthday feast to give a speech to the
birthday person. This is an opportunity to say
nice things, encourage, and inspire the birthday
person to be all that God wants them to be and to
also let them know they are valued and
appreciated. This is also encouraging children to
say nice things about their brother or sister.
* Go over their photo album and talk about their
birth and what they were like as a baby and
toddler etc...children particularly love to hear
these stories over and over again!
* Birthday person gets breakfast in bed.
* No chores for the day. (remember this is just
an idea!)
