I was born in Whangarei, New Zealand in1955. I joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force at the age of 16 and was introduced to the world of photography by one of the RNZAF photographers. "Thanks Pete, I am forever grateful."
My first SLR camera was a RICOH TLS401. Over a number of years, I have owned several Nikon cameras and lenses. More recently I entered the age of digital photography with the acquisition of a Fuji S2 Pro which has since been upgraded to the newer S3 Pro.
Having a background in the IT Industry made for a natural transition into the world of Photoshop, Colour Management and Inkjet printing. The move from a traditional to a digital darkroom has been a rewarding experience and has given me control over print quality and image production that I could never have achieved otherwise.
Since starting to take photography more seriously, I have been fortunate enough to have a number images printed in a variety of publications. Some of these being, NZ Performance Car magazine, local newspapers and several architectural periodicals. I have photographed a number of weddings and also produced four limited edition calendars.
My current interest is mainly in nature, landscape and macro photography. With a view to expanding this interest I attended a couple of workshops in the U.S. One with John Shaw in Big South Fork and one with Willard Clay in the Smokey Mountains Tennessee.
Currently I am a member of the Kapiti Camera Club.
Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU to my wife Tani. Without her this web site would not have been possible.
