Firstly, welcome to the Volley & Bayonet Page!

Volley & Bayonet is a miniature miniatures rule set that uses simple mechanics to recreate warfare in the black powder era (1700-1890) using miniature figures. However, while the mechanics are simple the resulting games are far from simplistic. Rather, they create a very realistic battle from the view point of a corps or army commander which follow the flow and give a realistic feel to miniature battles.

If you are not sure of the basic mechanics of Volley & Bayonet make sure you have a look at this general review.

When you have time, have a close look at the scenarios available here for use with Volley & Bayonet. I'm sure you will be impressed with there quality, scope and range. In addition an increasing number of battle reports are on on-line so you can see some Volley & Bayonet games in "virtual" action. Don't forget Volley & Bayonet is about fighting complete battles, so the reports are of entire battles all fought on a single table. Not parts of battles as is the case with many other miniatures rule sets.

Volley & Bayonet is a rules set that is very much alive. A limited print run of the original version is once again available, including a number of excellent scenarios. A second edition of the rules is also planned though it's final publication date is still not known. For the latest news on the publication plans click here. While we await the release Frank Chadwick's, design notes are well worth a read and will help set the scene for what these amazing Horse & Musket warfare rules are about.

Now, if you are wondering what's changed on this site since you were last here, make sure you look at the what's new section. These page are updated regularly so things could well have changed since you were last here!
