1) All woods are dense except the Niederwald which is open.
2) The ridge is flat-topped in the area of Froeschwiller itself. A unit on the higher contour south of or within 6" of Froeschwiller in any other direction cannot see or be seen from the valley floor to the east.
3) French orders are to hold up the enemy advance as long as possible. Supporting troops have been promised from 5th Corps which should arrive from the north west.
Prussian orders are to open the road to the west from Worth via Froeschwiller, brushing aside what appears to be a minor blocking force.
French decisive win=Prussians have no unexhausted divisions west of a line Neehwhiller-Morsbronn at game end and the French have at least two unexhausted divisions on map.
French marginal win=Prussians only one or two unexhausted divisions west of this line at game end and the French have at least one unexhausted division on map.
Prussian marginal win=Prussians have at least three unexhausted divisions west of this line at game end and the French have only one unexhausted division.
