Guns
Battalion guns have seen several rule changes over the years. The current battalion gun rules, which even post dates the 1809 supplement, are: 1. Battalion guns can be allocated to infantry regiments, infantry brigades and infantry skirmisher stands. Cavalry brigades and skirmishers may have them as well (e.g. SYW Russians). 2. Battalion guns add a die to all shooting attacks, and all infantry melee attacks. 3. Battalion guns always hit on a 6, even when supporting a melee. 4. Battalion guns have a range of 0"/4". This is the same range as close range artillery which has also been reduced to 4" for all guns. 5. Battalion guns never cause enemy to check morale as they have no short range. 6. Battalion guns do not reduce infantry brigade movement to 12", although they reduce cavalry movement to 20". 7. Battalion guns are permanently lost if the stand they are attached to crosses a marshy stream or routs. |
