The Titanic! |
The ship that was UNSINKABLE
On the 31st of March 1909 work was started on the Titanic. It was the largest passenger liner of its time and by far the most luxurious. Perhaps some of its most dominating features were its four majestic funnels they were black with gold tops.
The Titanic could carry up to 3,547 passengers and crew. Soon it was ready for its maiden voyage the captain received many warnings about icebergs in the area but he ignored them.
At 2:20am 15 of April 1912 the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank. To add to the disaster there weren't enough lifeboats therefore only 700 people survived the incident.
A couple of years ago a group of French scientists discovered the wreck of the greatest passenger liner ever built.
