     John Rowe was baptized on 21 Apr 1774 at Buckland Monachorum, DEV, ENG.2 Some sources show John as born on 2 Aug 1774 but this postdates his baptism, and comes from earlier information than the extracts from the Buckland baptisms which are now believed to be correct.3,4
     John Rowe died on 21 Jul 1820 at Hele, Par. of Bickleigh, DEV, ENG; aged 46.5,6,7,8 He was buried on 24 Jul 1820 at St Mary's, Bickleigh, DEV, ENG, Jean's extract of Bickleigh burials show "John Rowe, 46 of Hele buried 24 Jul 1820" (Pat had Egg Buckland, which is a Parish in the Roborugh Hundred). His h/stone reads: "Sacred to the memory of John Rowe son of Joseph and Elizth Rowe who departed this life July 21st 1820 aged 46 years" and is positioned next to that of his brother Matthias, two along one way from brother Joseph and the other way from mother Elizabeth.3,6,7,8
     On 23 Apr 1810 John Rowe executed a deed of apprenticeship of George Giles Glanville of Bickleigh, DEV, ENG, George Giles, boy aged 13 yrs, bound to John Rowe, Yeoman, till 21, overseers, John Dawe, Thomas Peek, William Creber, parents Richard & Sarah Glanville resident Bickleigh (George's Glanvilles lived at Hele for many years).9
     John was a witness to the marriage of his sister Mary Rowe to Anthony Brooking on 28 Oct 1810 at St Mary's?, Bickleigh, DEV, ENG.10,1,3,11,12,13,14
