Framlingham castle Magnificent late 12th century castle built by Roger Bigod, Earl of Norfolk. Wall walk. An English Heritage property, with historical recreations at certain times of the year. Framlingham is a pretty market town with interesting shops and restaurants.
Orford Castle Unique polygonal tower-keep and former port developed by Henry II in the 1160s. An English Heritage property. Orford is a pretty town with excellent restaurants. Orford Ness is close by.
Norwich Castle One of the City's most famous landmarks, Norwich Castle was built by the Normans as a Royal Palace 900 years ago. Used as a prison from the 14th century, the Castle became a museum in 1894.
Norwich Cathedral This 900 year old cathedral with the clean lines of the Romanesque architecture and tranquil setting and medieval precinct make any visit to Norwich Cathedral memorable. It is joyous to spend a sunny day sitting in the Cloisters with a good book.
Earsham Otter trust In 30 acres of attractive grounds, the Otter Trust at Earsham near Bungay has been responsible for saving the otter from extinction in eastern England.

Snape Maltings Set in the middle of the marsh this picturesque area is most commonly associated with the composer Benjamin Britten. Visit the internationally renowned concert hall and surrounding craft shops. The concert hall is well supported by excellent restaurant and nearby local pub.
Aldeburgh & Thorpeness Aldeburgh is a  picturesque coastal fishing town with famous pebbly beach, the Moot Hall, boating lake, theatre, cinema and fabulous fish and chips!

Thorpeness is a pretty village just along the coast from Aldeburgh with craft shops, restaurants and a boating lake. Regatta held in August.

 

Southwold A famous Victorian town with award-winning beaches looking out over Sole Bay, scene of the Battle of Sole Bay in 1672. Southwold lighthouse, built in 1890, stands 101 feet above the town, and tours are available. There is an outstanding Pier, Museum, the Harbour, an excellent selection of shops, art galleries and tearooms, many fine restaurants and pubs - many serving ales brewed by the local Adnams Brewery. Market days are Monday and Thursday.

St Peters Brewery The thirteenth century St Peters hall is home to St Peters brewery which produces a range of classic English cask conditioned ales, made from Suffolk malts and Kentish hops with water drawn from their own well under the hall.
Beccles This charming market town on the edge of the broads hosts a weekly market every Friday. Situated on the river Waveney it is host to a range of unique and fascinating shops.
The Broads The ageless southern broads connect many of the major towns, villages and cities in the local vicinity. It is possible to hire canoes, day boats and launches to explore this gloriously beautiful corner of England. Fishing and sea angling are freely and easily available throughout the area.
Dunwich Heath Coastal low land heath rich in wildlife within an area of outstanding natural beauty offering many excellent walks. With the national trust coastguard cottages it is possible to sit and enjoy a charming cup of tea over looking the sea and surround countryside.
Minsmere RSPB Bird reserve Famous RSPB bird reserve and beach.
