Swinging Merrily

Am I too old to sit on a swing?

I think so -
They have age limits
In playgrounds these days!

Take me to a park
Where I can swing merrily forever

Swing back to childhood
Swing back to innocence

Swinging to and fro - pendulum like
Swinging as if I was a babe in arms

Swing me skyward - to Heaven’s door
And beyond

Swing me to
Galaxies undiscovered

Swing me to freedom
Swing me to peace

Swing me to the place
Where love abounds

Swing me ....

Swing me ....

Swing me ....

Message to the Worlds’ Leaders

We live in fear
Of World Leaders with itchy fingers
On nuclear war-head triggers
Ready to release biological and chemical weapons
Willing to kill, maim and disable non-soldiers
Women
Children
The aged
Those with disabilities

This is the 21st Century!
Have World Leaders
Burned the history books
Erased all memory
Of the devastation that war brings?

Have World Leaders
Fathomed
How to survive a nuclear winter?
How to preserve the human race
And all the knowledge Man has acquired?

Have World Leaders
Forgotten the art of negotiation?
Or were they never privy to such skill?

It is not too late to learn
That the voice
Is the most powerful weapon
Of them all

If I poured my heart out

If I poured my heart out
Could you find a cup big enough to catch its content
And not spill a drop?

If I cried my eyes out
Could you wrap them tenderly in a kerchief
And then describe what I no longer see?

If I screamed my lungs out
Could you share your breath with me
And sustain my life?

If I lost my voice
Could I ask that you not speak for me
As you cannot know what I have to say
