Holmes Marbellina of Ekimeus
MOBY fell in love with Brioche, was hastily wed, and the last to have
her babies inside on a towel on the carpet. She made such an incredible but
silent mess of herself. Instead of meowing that she was starting so we could
make all the appropriate sounds, oohs and aahs, running water, etc., she went ahead and
did it all on her own. There was our Moby, her pale grey and white, extremely
long and fine fur, covered from head to tail in her own blood. Her kittens were
lying all over the room, also covered in blood. But Moby was the proudest of
mums. We wiped her and babies down as best we humans can, and tucked them into
her for a feed. She started to wash them and spent most of the next day doing
that, washing them. But Moby refused to feed them! She washed then, rearranged
them, cuddled them, lay on them, purred all over them, but would not feed them.
I took over at this stage and showed her how since the kittens were glowingly
clean and now needed to feed. From then on they thrived but evey time we checked
on them, there she was - washing them. Moby produced four very clean little
kittens.
I Don't have a Pedigree!
