A BIT ABOUT ANTHROPOLOGY - MY ARTS MAJOR
anth links:
At some stage I will organise all of these into categories! Please send me any other similar links you have (klio@ziplip.com). Over the summer I have a plan to make a separate site for anth links and so on, because I have had lots of problems finding good sources for links with my essays, so if you have any suggestions or want to help, let me know! thanks!
Anthropology is all about human culture in the past and present. Sub-disciplines include archaeology, linguistics, ethnomusicology, cultural anth, and biological anth.
I am studying archaeology and cultural anth.
Archaeology has got nothing to do with dinosaurs (that's paleontology), and Indiana Jones and Lara Croft would be frowned upon by the academic community. Treasure hunting doesn't help us learn anything. Not to mention that just barging in and ripping the 'good stuff' out destroys the site. Things like where in the site an artifact is help us identify its use etc. and a site map is often of more use than the artifact itself.
Just thought I'd get that out of the way! People have asked me how the dinosaurs are so many times its not funny anymore!
