New Zealand is situated in the South Pacific, between Australia and Antarctica.

Although we are often "lumped together" with Australia by people in other parts of the world, and, although the Australian media has a habit of "acquiring" New Zealanders if they become famous, New Zealand and Australia are a different countries altogether!

I live at the southern end of the North Island, in Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. Because Wellington is surrounded by deep, cold water, and, most days, a breeze (or stronger!) passes over, the climate is cool and the atmosphere pristine.
