As past-participants of the JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) Programme,
members of JETAA (JET Alumni Association) South Island have the following
goals:-
- Inform the wider community about
- the JET programme
- life and customs in, and doing business with Japan
- JETAA activities which seek to promote Japan and
the JET Programme
- Encourage new members to join JETAA, to share past experiences with other
JETs and assist in achieving JETAA's goals
- Assist the Consular Office of Japan, Christchurch through involvement in
the selection process for new JETs, including
- speaking at public presentations to inform prospective JET
candidates about the Programme
- being members of the interview-panel screening prospective JETs
- attending information and question-and-answer seminars,
and receptions, for new JETs before they go to Japan
- Maintain contact with chapters of JETAA in New Zealand and worldwide, by
- exchanging information with other chapters as often as possible,
via email or other means
- attending, and/or helping to organise, regional (and wider)
JETAA seminars
